Cavalia galloped across North America from 2003 to 2006, before leaping across the Atlantic, taking the public and critics by storm. O Magazine portrays the show as "breathtaking" and Larry King of CNN describes it as the greatest show he has ever seen. Las Vegas Magazine writes, "One of the most spectacular hybrids of modern theatre in the world." Since March, 2007, the show has been touring European capitals such as Brussels, Madrid and Berlin and will be in Spain through Christmas before heading to the U.S.
"We’ve been looking forward to our return to Scottsdale since our visit in 2005 when we had such an overwhelming reception," said Normand Latourelle, President and Artistic Director.
"Phoenix is a very ‘warm spot’ for those who appreciate innovative entertainment and equestrian arts."
Cavalia, often illustrated as an equine ballet, is a lavish orchestration of multimedia, equestrian and performing arts. Charged with poetry and pure emotion and in dream-like virtual setting, the show combines acrobatics, dance, aerial stunts and live music to the equestrian arts. Under the world’s largest touring big top, a 160 feet-wide stage allows the horses to express themselves in all their beauty, their grace and their strength, at times in total liberty.
"Cavalia is alive and in constant evolution," said Latourelle. "Whether someone sees Cavalia for the very first time or they are returning for an encore, they will discover a truly magical experience capturing the timeless relationship between horses and humans. Each artist, on two legs or four, adds a personal touch, which makes each Cavalia performance a show unique in itself."
Since 2003, Cavalia has visited 30 cities in the United States, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and Portugal. One of the largest touring shows in the world with its 150 employees, 40 horses, 35 artists and 100 trucks of equipment, Cavalia has charmed more than two million spectators to date.
