Tickets to see this year’s Rugby World Cup in France are now available for all individual games.  To avoid losing your money on a ticket scam, please follow these simple rules when buying Rugby World Cup tickets in the secondary market.

  • Buy tickets only from qualified ticket brokers who are members of the National Association of Ticket Brokers.   This is because most disputes you may have with an NATB broker can be resolved.  NATB brokers must uphold the highest ethical standards when selling tickets on the secondary market.
  • Do not buy your tickets from sellers on eBay, Craigslist or on websites you cannot get firm references for.  The sellers on these ticket forums are not licensed and you are taking unecessary risks.  Many scams are taking place with individuals who use these ticket forums and take advantage of individuals who are looking to buy the tickets. Some scams involve copying complete websites to mis represent who they are, to using Escrow accounts which are really nothing more than sending your money to one of their accounts.  Be very careful and do not even consider doing this.

Buying tickets in the secondary market is much like buying cotton, paper or airline tickets.  There are many places where you can buy the airline ticket but does it really matter which service you use? Of course it does.  Especially when the ticket you are buying is an expensive one, or you need to discuss the purchase with the agent. Many times the most expensive tickets are not necessarily the best tickets for you.

Here is a list of critical things to consider when choosing a ticket broker for your next ticket purchase.

  • Physical office where you can reach the broker
  • 800# to reach Live Agents at their office, not a fulfillment center
  • Process their orders internally rather then send orders out to a fulfillment center
    • most of the big brokers today such as Ticketliquidator have the holding broker process your order.
    • If there is a problem with your order this makes a huge difference
  • Do they have experienced ticket agents, or are you speaking with students who are working over their holiday break?
  • Member of the Better Business Bureau or the National Association of Ticket Brokers.
  • Been in business for over 3 years

If you have any questions regarding a ticket purchase and you need a second opinion on a deal or the veracity of an offer, feel free to contact our office.
