LA’s Most Exciting Sports Weekend at Staples Center, Begins Thursday Night

This Thursday begins an unparalleled sports event schedule for downtown Los Angeles. Staples Center is hosting a series of sold out playoff games for the Kings, Lakers and Clippers during an unprecedented 80 hours this weekend which continues thru the end of Sunday night.
As well as the awaited playoff games, the AMGEN TOUR of California Cycling will be making the last leg of their 8 day, 750 mile journey, located on Figueroa Street and Chick Hearn/11^th Street at approximately 11:45AM on Sunday morning. Fans should check for road closures in the downtown area to allow for the cyclist race.

Fans are encouraged to anticipate delays in traffic and parking areas. There is also a schedule conference at the Los Angeles Convention center on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Parking will be available at Staple Center, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum; free shuttles will be provided from the Coliseum. Public transportation is available for the downtown area as well. The MTA Red line and Blue line has drop off points close to the events.

Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias Are Set To Start A 2012 World Tour

Jennifer Lopez is teaming up with Enrique Iglesias to begin her first world tour which kicks off the beginning of June in South America. Lopez will wrap up this year’s season of American Idol just in time to start her world tour. After they complete the South American leg of the tour they are scheduled to make their first North American tour date at the Bell Centre in Montreal Quebec on July 14th. The 20-city North American tour is scheduled to end on August 31st at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.

The popular reggaeton music duo Wisin Y Yandel will be joining the tour as well. Wisin Y Yandel is a popular Puerto Rican band that features Latin and Caribbean styles of music. They recently released their video, “Follow the Leader” that spotlights Lopez on vocals. The world tour will be a 6 month concert series that will travel throughout South and North American and then Europe and Asia.

Lopez has had a recent surge in popularity due to her performances on American Idol and her new hits including “On the Floor’ and “Dance Again” , both featuring rapper Pitt Bull on vocals. This world tour promises to be a historic event for Lopez, as she plans to perform her most popular hits and has changed some of the arrangements of her music to give it a fresh sound without deviating too much from her original sound. Lopez and Iglesias have been working on a new song together that will premier on the tour.

Enrique Iglesias is a hot Latin pop star, and is popular both in the Latin and American music scene. He is the son of famed Spanish singer, Julio Igesias. Enrique has recently released his newest album Euphoria, and has been touring to promote it. He says he is excited about the world tour with Lopez and loves performing for his fans.

The Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias concert will feature performances by the artists both together and separately. They have been working to provide an exciting concert for their fans that includes dance music and duets. They have maintained most of the creative control of their performances and have planned their performances around their fans favorite songs and dances. Choreography for the tour is being handled by Lopez’s boyfriend Casper Smart. The last few weeks have been very exciting in the world of tennis as many new storylines are developing. The depth on both the men and womens tour is quite remarkable as the power players have both been upset keeping the suspense high.

Kanye and Jay-Z Take the Throne on the road

Rap royalty Kanye West and Jay-Z have teamed up to form a new group, called The Throne. This fall, the Throne sets out on a 24 city tour starting with their first show at the Palace in Auburn Hills. Get your tickets now!

In recent months and years, Kanye West has participated in several concert and festival appearances, including a headline spot on the Coachella 2011 bill.

Velvet-voiced singer Stevie Nicks has locked in plans for a solo U.S. tour to promote her first new album in a decade and follow a successful co-headlining run earlier this year.

The rock chanteuse has confirmed 10 events so far, beginning with an August 9 concert at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. Nicks will stay on the road for at least another month, with her present calendar closing September 4 at the Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY.

Book of Mormon & Warhorse - Big Tony Awards Winners!

"The Book of Mormon," a musical satire about religion written by the creators of "South Park," and "War Horse," a British play about a boy’s search for his beloved horse, dominated the 65th annual Tony Awards Sunday night.

The apparent predestination of "The Book of Mormon" as the big winner was not lost on comedian Chris Rock before he presented the best musical Tony. "This is such a waste of time," Rock joked. "It’s like taking a hooker to dinner."

"The Book of Mormon" got the best musical Tony, along with eight other trophies. The show had been nominated in 14 categories.

What the show lacked in suspense was made up with entertainment as two-time Tony host Neil Patrick Harris guided the three-hour broadcast from Broadway’s Beacon Theatre. Harris, who is openly homosexual, opened the show with a tongue-in-cheek number proclaiming "Broadway’s not just for gays anymore."

Most of the dozen song-and-dance performances were from nominated musicals, but the leading actors for "Spider-man, Turn Off the Dark" sang a duet from the show that opens on Broadway next Tuesday.

"War Horse" was the big winner among plays, winning all five categories in which it was nominated — including the best play Tony. It is the story of a teen’s journey to find his horse after it was shipped to France for duty in World War I. Click here to purchase War Horse Tickets.
